THE ANN M. MARTIN FOUNDATION, INC.
P.O. BOX 430
Boiceville, New York 12412

If interested in applying for a grant, please send a letter of intent to the above address.

Ann believes strongly in giving to organizations and in volunteering.
"I talk to lots of kids, and know that many of them see problems in their neighborhoods, their communities, and the world," she says. "They want to be able to make a difference, but they think that maybe they are too young or too inexperienced. Well, I don't think that's true!"

The Ann M. Martin Foundation was founded in 1990 to provide financial support to causes benefiting children, education and literacy programs, and homeless people and animals. In general, the foundation funds small, grassroots programs, or portions of programs that are hard to fund, with a special interest in small organizations the fund children's arts programs. Any organization receiving a grant must have 501 (c)(3) status as a non-profit organization, and one copy of your 990 Form.

As a matter of policy, the foundation makes grants only to organizations that do not discriminate against people seeking services or employment based on race, sex, religion, age, sexual preference, or physical ability.

Ann M. Martin is the author of the best-selling children's book series The Baby-Sitters Club and Baby-Sitters Little Sister, which have expanded to include the marketing of merchandise such as toys, clothes, and videos. The foundation is funded privately by the author, and by the author's proceeds received from the sale of the merchandise.

Please note: Grants awarded range up to but do not exceed $20,000.

The Board of Directors meets once a year to make funding decisions about grant proposals. Please send us grant proposals by September 15th. Please include five copies of all the information in and sent with your proposal.

Potential grantees are invited to submit a proposal of five to ten pages that outlines the projects for which funds are sought. It should include the following:

• the goals and objectives of the organization or project
•
the amount of the grant request
•
a specific budget breakdown of how the requested funds will be used
•
the most recent ruling on your 501 (c)(3) status
•
the current annual budget for your organization and project budget, if applicable; all budgets should include both income and expenses
•
a list of current funding sources and the amounts contributed

You may also send us brochures, annual reports, videotapes, news articles, etc., that will help us better understand your organization and the work you do. But please keep these materials to a minimum. The materials will be returned upon request.
