Thaddeus's oldest friend and another professor. She's been taking care of the family since Nia went missing.

Nia Silver
Rue's mother has always loved nature and always been a little eccentric. Rue knows that talking to trees and flowers is crazy and she's determined not to be crazy, but Nia doesn't seem to mind.

Aubrey
Rue has never met her grandfather, although there is a picture of him at the wedding of her parents. Oddly he looks exactly the same in the picture as he does in person.

Tam
Fond of cryptic speech, Rue is sure Tam is just trying to scare her. He's in the old picture too and he doesn't seem to have aged a bit. He also seems to never wear shoes. Weird.

Dale Rice
Dale is Rue's boyfriend and a member of the band, The Ubiquitous, with his friend Justin. They've been friends since they were little, even though Justin's family has money and Dale's doesn't.

Justin Smythe
Dale's best friend, Lucy's boyfriend and another member of The Ubiquitous. He's a joker and often embarrassed that he has more money than most of his friends.

Lucy Chan
Lucy has been Rue's best friend for years. Together they started exploring abandoned buildings and now do so as a foursome called The Creepers.
