If you could have dinner with any author alive or deceased, who would it be?
If I could have dinner with any author alive or deceased, I would have dinner with William Butler Yeats. I am a huge Yeats fan. I know that he actually went out into the field and took down people’s stories of their experiences with faeries and so I would just love to have the opportunity to talk to him.
I think he would be a fascinating guy, he’s interested in the Order of the Golden Dawn and he’s just an amazingly beautiful writer. His poem, The Hosting of the Sidhe, makes me feel in this way like this is what I want, this is the sort of awe, strangeness, alieness and beauty that I think faerie folklore can evoke; it can evoke this feeling. He captures it in a way that I can’t think of anybody else who has.
