Official Rules:

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. To enter, print out the “Harry Potter Opinion Poll Sweepstakes! Entry Form” on 81/2 X 11 paper. All entries must include your name, address, age, gender, telephone number and the parental consent statement set forth on the entry form (with parent/legal guardian signature); additionally, entries must include all 6 Harry Potter book covers printed from the Poll Results pages pasted on the form; entries must be mailed with proper postage to Harry Potter Opinion Poll Sweepstakes!, Attn: Harry Potter Marketing Department, c/o Scholastic Inc., PO Box 711, New York, NY 10013-0711. ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE THE PARENTAL CONSENT STATEMENT AND BE SIGNED BY A PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN OR THE ENTRY WILL BE REJECTED. One entry per person. All entries must be received by April 24, 2006. Partially completed entries or mechanically reproduced entries will not be accepted. Scholastic Inc. (“Sponsor”) assumes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, damaged, stolen, postage-due, illegible, or late entries or mail. Sweepstakes open to legal residents of the United States not older than 18, except employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and its advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and the immediate families of each. Sweepstakes is void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law.
  3. Except where prohibited, each entrant’s parent/legal guardian consents to the use of his/her child’s name, age, gender, entry, and/or likeness by Sponsor without further notice or compensation. All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to release Scholastic Inc., and each prize provider in this sweepstakes, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors and agencies, from any and all liability for injuries or damages of any kind sustained through participation in this sweepstakes and/or use of a prize once accepted. All matters relating to this Sweepstakes shall be subject to Scholastic’s sole discretion and Scholastic’s decisions shall be final and binding on all entrants and winners.
  4. Grand Prize: Three grand prize winners will each receive a Harry Potter iPod® Package which includes a 30GB iPod® etched with a crest of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and all 6 downloadable audiobooks* from the iTunes® Music Store, a deluxe edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with a bookplate signed by J.K. Rowling, and a Harry Potter bookmark (Approximate Retail Value: $609.98). First Place Prize: Six first place winners will each receive one “Give The Gift of Harry” set which includes two Harry Potter Hardcover #1-6 Boxed Sets and 2 Harry Potter Bookmarks (Approximate Retail Value: $317.88). All eligible entrants from whom Sponsor receives a completed entry form, will receive a Harry Potter bookmark. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners.

  5. Prizes are non-transferable, not returnable, and cannot be sold or redeemed for cash. No prize substitution allowed, except by Sponsor in case of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
  6. ENTRY VALID WITH PARENT’S/LEGAL GUARDIAN’S SIGNATURE ONLY AND COMPLETED ENTRY FORM. ENTRIES RECEIVED WITHOUT PARENT’S/LEGAL GUARDIAN’S SIGNATURE AND COMPLETED ENTRY FORM WILL BE REJECTED.
  7. Winners will be notified by Sponsor via phone or mail on or about April 28, 2006. One or more winners may also be required to attend and participate in media and/or public relations events (the “Media Events”) designated by Scholastic and/or requested by various media outlets. Upon Scholastic’s request, and subject to winner’s availability, each winner agrees to participate in such Media Events without any further compensation. Scholastic shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to choose the winners it wishes to participate in such Media Events. By accepting the prize, all winners, whether or not chosen to participate in such Media Events, agree to release Scholastic Inc., and its affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors and agencies, and hold each of them harmless, from any claims relating to their selection, non-selection, participation or non-participation in any Media Events.
