New York's famous Rockefeller Plaza became Humanity Plaza from September 26-30, 2005. Volunteers worked around the clock to build houses for families displaced by Gulf Coast hurricanes. Scholastic is helping turn those houses into homes by filling each one with a collection of children's books. Kids from across the country helped to welcome Gulf Coast families to their new homes by personalizing book plates for each donated book. We received more than 50,000 bookplates filled with messages of support and good wishes for their new homes. At this time we are no longer accepting bookplate submissions.
