Robert Burnside has a lot of problems. His family is weird. His friends are also weird. But nothing compares to his biggest problem: his closet. Rob”s closet was once a makeshift science laboratory, but now, it”s just a giant messy pile of junk, clothes, and books. Sometimes the closet is just a normal mess, but other times the closet refuses to open, makes weird noises, and spits out strange creatures that seem to be a combination of the books his mom is always giving him to read.

Robert's already dealt with Wonkenstein, a blend of Willy Wonka and Frankenstein...but he's not prepared for the next creature he meets: Potterwookiee! Robert isn't sure what to do with this strange combination of Chewbacca from Star Wars and boy wizard Harry Potter, but he decides to call him Hairy. And definitely to keep him a secret from the rest of the family.

Could it be that Hairy has arrived to help Robert defeat the school bully or win the heart of his crush? Or maybe he's here because of the cooking competition that's come to town, which Robert is desperate to win. Will Hairy's help be enough to counteract the "help" Robert is getting from his team of kitchen-incompetent friends?
