Support These Teachers Raising Funds with ClassroomsCount™
Inspire My Students to Keep Reading
Hi, my name is Ruben Gonzalez. After years of working in schools, I will finally become a classroom teacher in the fall! As I completed my apprenticeship this year, I recognized how important it is for children to read.
With that being said, I need help building a classroom library. I have seen the variety of readers in our classes and need to ensure I have something for everyone. I would be forever grateful if you would be so kind as to help fund a classroom library!
Dream Big, Learn Bigger
Hello, everyone. My name is Eilleen de Guzman, and I am your 1st-grade teacher at North Rowan Elementary School. At NRES, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. However, we face challenges such as outdated library books and a lack of educational resources, which make it difficult for our students to achieve their full potential. That's why I'm launching our campaign, "Dream Big, Learn Bigger."
My goal is to raise funds to update our library with new, real-life-related books. With your support, I can create a more engaging and effective learning environment for my students. I need your support to make this vision a reality. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can ensure our students have the necessary resources to succeed. These resources will help my students improve their reading skills and ultimately prepare them for a brighter future.
Empowering Students, One Book at a Time!
Gathering donations for books to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create, and ignite a love for reading and empower young minds! I am aiming to enrich our classroom library with books catering to various interest, reading levels, and learning styles to provide a classroom library that my students love.
By donating, you're not just providing books- you're nurturing a love for reading, and empowering young minds to reach their full potential. My goal is to incorporate a diverse selection that broadens access to quality literature. It is important to me to have a classroom library full of books readily available containing various options, so that everyone has something to choose from. Helping to expand vocabulary, comprehension and stimulating critical thinking skills in a fun way! Your support in this mission is greatly appreciated!
Help Students Enjoy Reading!
My name is Sarah and I teach 8th grade in Stafford County. My goal as an English teacher is to find that spark in each child that helps them connect with some type of literature: novels, short stories, graphic novels, manga, informational articles, etc. In my first year of teaching, I was shocked by how many students just outright refuse to read. Not just class materials, but anything at all!
With these funds I want to work towards providing that variety and collecting the resources that might help me to better implement my curriculum in the classroom. Would you help me find that spark in students and create some life-long readers?
Exploring the World of Literature
The books we are able to purchase with these funds will give my students the opportunity to jump into a new world of books. Whether that be this world full of past events or a made-up world, students will get to explore and discover a world full of endless opportunities and lessons to be learned.
My students will have the opportunity to think outside of the box and come to their own conclusions on things they encounter and experience. They will be more prepared to be powerful leaders equipped with the decision-making skills that are important for their daily life.
Books for Mrs. Lenz 5th Graders
Hello! My name is Maygan Lenz. I'll be starting my 7th year teaching this coming fall. The past three years I taught Title 1 reading and math interventions. This fall will be my first year teaching 5th grade.
I am launching this campaign to build my classroom library. I would love to expand on genres, authors, etc. One of my biggest joys was watching students fall in love with reading. It is my hope to add more books so that my students can dive into reading in the classroom. I am hoping to raise $500 with your help. Thank you from Mrs. Lenz and her upcoming 5th graders.
Pick Up a Good Book Club
Hello! I’m Mrs. Howell and I teach first grade at Buck Lake Elementary. I just completed my first year doing book studies with Scholastic’s Book Club. It was a great success! The students loved reading books like The Dot, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Turkey, How To Catch A Snowman, The Grinny Granny Donkey, and I Promise. Best of all, every child got to take home a copy of each of these titles!
Now, I’m ramping up the campaign for the 2024-2025 school year! My goal is $240 so I can do SIX book studies next school year. Your donation will help my students build their own library at home and support a love for reading!
Book Fairy, Is That You?
Hello! I am Marissa Kruger and I get to teach a wonderful group of students who range in age from kindergarten through 4th grade at CamRidge Colony. These students absolutely love to read and learn about new topics in books. I would love to raise these funds to be able to give each student a new book each month. Students will be able to take these books home and share them with their families allowing them to practice reading in a different environment than school.
When you become a "book fairy" you are allowing learning to spread to new heights for these students. Each book given to students will come with a note attached that says, "from your book fairy", I truly cannot wait to see their sweet faces excited about their new books.
Belle Aire Summer Reading
Hello! My name is Ashley or Mrs. Poole and I am the librarian at Belle Aire Elementary School. I’m raising funds to be able to provide each student next school year, an exceptional variety of books, to choose to keep and take home. My only hope is that these new books will inspire all students to read more. Students are taught how to read at school, but it is so vital that they have options at home as well.
When you become a Book Fairy by contributing to my campaign, you’ll help Belle Aire raise $500 to send books home with students. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student in our school. Will you become a Book Fairy for my students? Thank you for your support!
Creating Young Readers
Hey everyone! This year, the Scholastic sponsorship was such a huge success and I would love to keep doing it, but of course I need your help! I would love for my kids to not only get monthly books, but I would like to include books in Welcome to School totes as well as birthday books, holiday books, and books for summer reading buckets.
Your support of my students is greatly appreciated! Having books in homes and in kids' hands in so powerful, and it helps students build up their reading fluency and comprehension. Thank you so much for helping support my classroom!
Building Little Bookworms
I teach a busy and fun group of children ages 3-5 with special needs. In the years since I have started these campaigns, I have been able to provide a book a month to each of my students to take home and keep!
The books are typically between $2-$5 and I have noticed, as well as comments from families I work with, that their children have increased interest in reading when provided with these books! Thank you for supporting my sweet littles!
One Book a Month for Each Student
Thank you to those of you who donated last year! Next year, I will be teaching third again at Parkview Heights-a Title 1 school in La Vista. I just got to order my last set of books for each of my third graders. Because of my Scholastic campaign last year, my kids got to take home a book each month.
This month thinking of summer reading, I got every student a copy of a popular, funny, light hearted new series called, Bad Food! They are going to love it! Next year, I'd love to be able to do the same thing for my new students. Thank you for considering supporting my new group of students with a donation to my Scholastic fundraiser!
Help Us Build a Diverse Classroom Library!
I am asking for help to building a classroom library that will inspire and nurture a love for reading among our bilingual students. Reading is a crucial skill that opens up a world of knowledge and imagination. However, for many of our students, finding books that reflect their experiences and backgrounds can be a challenge.
My goal is to create a library filled with a diverse range of books that not only help students develop good reading habits but also allow them to see themselves in the stories they read. Books that reflect our students' experiences as bilingual individuals help them learn about themselves and their identities. No donation is too small; every dollar brings us closer to our goal. Thank you for considering our request and for your support!
Inspire a Bilingual Love of Reading
Hi there, I’m Erendira and I teach 6th grade at Los Amigos School. I launched this campaign to get more books in my students’ hands by expanding our bilingual classroom library. I have been teaching in Spanish for a few years and managed to fill my library with Spanish only books. Recently I learned that I would be switched over to English next school year. This means I must refill my entire library with books in English.
One of the biggest joys of teaching is seeing a student fall in love with a book. Your support will help me raise $500 to fill our classroom library with new books. Growing lifelong readers is the goal of my class—and your contribution will help do just that!
Empower Readers Through Book Choice
Hi! My name is Carissa and I am the Extended Curriculum teacher at Canterbury Elementary. I'm launching this campaign to raise funds in order to purchase diverse texts that promote the themes of kindness, perseverance, and social justice so that students can independently select a novel to read and discuss in literature circles. By incorporating diverse books and student choice, this promotes lifelong reading as well as increases reading motivation and interest. When students are interested and motivated to read, they engage in thoughtful and deep literature discussions.
Along with these benefits, students feel empowered when they can select their own books because it helps to develop their self- esteem as readers and decision makers. Your support will help me raise funds to create a text collection with diverse books that promote student’s self-esteem, reading motivation as well as lifelong reading. Thank you!
Books For All!
Hi there! We are a dual-language classroom with a large population of ELL students. Many of our students are learning to read in English but struggle to connect with the texts in the classroom.
I would love to be able to provide a selection of books that they can enjoy in English and in Spanish to help foster a love for reading, in whichever language they choose! Thank you in advance for your support.
Mision Lectura
Hi! My name is Shelby and I am a Bilingual 3rd grade teacher at Central Elementary. We are a Title I school which means that most of our students come from low income families. This has become an obstacle for them to be introduced to books, especially ones they enjoy reading.
When students become in love with a book, it makes them want to continue to read more and more. This is why it is important for me to fill my classroom library with diverse spanish books, so that my students can find that love in the books they can relate to and enjoy reading. Your support will help me raise $500 to fill our classroom library with new books. Growing lifelong readers is the goal of my class and with your help I know I will be able to do just that!
Help Us Build Book Access!
As some of you may know, for four summers now, local teachers have been giving back to local communities. This year, we are excited to share that Scholastic Books is providing us with an opportunity to fundraise for more books to give away! We kindly ask you to consider donating so we can purchase new books that represent people of all colors and cover high-interest topics.
Our goal is to build school and community partnerships, create home libraries, organize book floods, and reduce the gap in access to children's literacy between low socioeconomic and high-income families. At our core, we are passionate about children, diverse literature, and fostering community connections. Your support will make a difference in enhancing literacy opportunities for children in our community. Thank you for considering this opportunity to support!
