Meet Kara Davies
12-year-old Kara is the daughter of the mayor and a well-known lawyer. She’s well liked among her peers and seems to shine at everything that she does. She always seems to get what she wants — and attributes it to being lucky. Although some might consider her a snob, she is a social magnet and everyone seems to like her. Kara loves to be right in the center of attention.

Kara’s magical talent is unusual: her “luck” is merely a manifestation of the fact that she’s a magnet for magic, and a natural magic amplifier: the magic likes her, and always works better when she is around. She has always been the center of attention in the real world, but she is going to discover that magic centers on her, as well. She is now realizing that great responsibility often comes with this type of attention.

But when Kara works with her friends, there is nothing she can’t accomplish. Sometimes being a team player can have greater rewards than winning alone.

Not a huge fan of animals, Kara became committed to the Ravenswood cause after befriending a magical cat named Lyra.

Kara’s people skills and her ability to shine in any situation make her a natural choice for “Blazing Star.”
