Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane
by Suzanne Collins
In the months since Gregor first encountered the strange Underland beneath New York City, he's sworn he won't ever go back. But when another prophecy, this time about an ominous white rat known as Bane, calls for Gregor's help, the Underlanders know the only way they can get his attention is through his little sister, Boots.

Excerpt:
Solovet gave orders for Twitchtip to be taken to a remote cave outside Regalia, where the city's smells wouldn't be so torturous to her.

Before they left, Solovet turned to Gregor. "I have not had time to welcome you properly, Gregor. I hear you made quite a stir at training today."

Such a cool book! I think what I liked most was that it wasn't like every other fantasy novel.  It didn't have wizards or goblins or trolls. It just had giant spiders, roaches, rats, and bats that could talk but it was one of the most fun and original book I've read.
Jeff H. Age 12

This book was very interesting. It had a large journey and many exciting creatures to go with it. It also got me thinking about, other than the subways, what's under New York City?
Simon S. Age 9

This was an amazing book. Normally you expect a sequel to be less interesting than a the first one in the series, but this book has the same amount if not more action and excitement as the first.
Sindhu B. Age 12

This is the best book because it explains very well how someone needs a grip on life to defeat his tragedies
April W. Age 12

When I first picked up this book, I was completely hooked. There is a strong sense of excitement and adventure around every corner where you least expect it.
AJ E. Age 12

I think the Prophecy of Bane has lots of action and excitement. The underland is amazing!
Alexander B. Age 7

I've read this book and its sequel, and they are two of my favorite books. I hope there's a third in the series!!

I LOVE THIS BOOK! You should read it! It is full of action-packed fun and it is sooooooo exciting to think about what's going to happen next! There is a prophecy, and you have to figure out what's going to happen.
READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

I personally loved this book. It's my favorite. I could not put it down! I'm now looking for the sequel (if there is one).
K.F. Age 12

It was a very good book, full of adventure and wholesome storyline. I can't say enough good things about it.
Erich T. Age 9

My friend told me it was a great book and that she read it in a couple of days. I was surprised to hear that because she usually doesn't like books. So I read it and was quickly addicted to it. I couldn't put it down! This book is great!
Kristine D. Age 11

Gregor the Overlander is one of the best books I've ever read! It can be good for both boys and girls! The second book is just as good as the first. The only thing I don't like about them is that there is not a third yet!!! I just kept reading! The action and adventure just kept me begging for more!!
Ashlie B. Age 13

This is one of the most wonderful books out of all the books I've read, and that's a lot. This story has so much adventure whenever I read it again I never want to put it down. You think it's alot to read then all of the sudden you find yourself in the middle of the book. In short I think it's a great book.
Sean N. Age 10

I can't compare with any other book. It captures your mind and when you think that there is nothing more - something happens. Once you start you can't put it down.
Luke S., Age 14

This book is one of the best fantasy books I have read. There is no shortage of action, no shortage of emotions, and so shortage of beautiful scenery and lots of interesting creatures.
