District
of Columbia Mathematics Educator Named National Teacher 2005-2006
of the Year at White House Ceremony
Jason Kamras, mathematics educator from the District of Columbia,
was named the 2005 National Teacher of the Year by President George
W. Bush at a White House ceremony in the Rose Garden on April 20,
2005. Mr. Kamras is the fifty-fifth National Teacher of the year
and he will serve as the national spokesperson for the entire teaching
profession addressing government officials, the business community,
parents, teachers and students at conventions, forums and meetings
across the country.
