Teachers across the country are raising funds with Scholastic's ClassroomsCount™ to fill their students’ lives with books both in the classroom and at home. Help support these inspiring teachers this Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10, by contributing to their ClassroomsCount™ campaigns and supporting their students.

More and more educators are turning to ClassroomsCount™ to raise funds because it's a proven method. Last year alone, educators raised more than $2 million through the platform! That's a lot of books. Plus, on average it takes just 3 minutes, 42 seconds to set up a campaign, so it's as quick as it is effective.

If you know an educator who has a dream for their students and a need for funds to make it a reality, discover more about ClassroomsCount™ here

The 10 teachers below are engaging their friends, families, and communities and using funds to purchase books for students — keeping kids learning, reading, and growing year-round. Contribute to or share their campaigns with your community, and remember: Every penny counts. As little as $2 can help put a book in a student's hands!

Supporting Classroom Libraries

1. Spark the Love of Reading for First Graders

Mr. Manuel believes that nothing ignites a lifetime love of learning like the magic of books. He's looking to raise $400 to provide each of his 19 students with a curated selection of titles to take home over the summer so his students can continue to hone their reading skills. Will you join him in this important endeavor?

2. Just One More Chapter

This Teacher Appreciation Week, Melissa is excited to grow her library so her students will always be able to find a book they love on her shelf. Melissa needs $300 to reach her goal and get books into the hands of her students.

3. Spring/Summer Book Giveaway

Kristen is dedicated to giving every student in her whole school a new book before the break! The students look forward to this for many reasons: They might not have books at home, they've never had new books, or they've never had their own books. Countless times over the years Kristen has heard students say things like: "This is mine? To keep? Forever? I get to take this home?!" Can you help her hit her goal?

4. A Book Is a Gift You Can Open Again and Again

Shannon is currently finishing up her first year of teaching. However, next year, she'll be making the switch from second grade to fifth grade. As such, almost her entire classroom library will need to be replaced with age-appropriate books. Any and all help is appreciated!

5. The Joy of Summer Reading

Frances' goal this summer is to send every student home with at least four new books of their choosing. She loves that Scholastic offers both great value and high-interest titles that her students ask for the most. Can you chip in to help Frances achieve her goal?

6. Every Student Needs a Good Book!

When Jennifer inherited a class of mostly reluctant readers earlier this year, they complained about every book they read. But during the course of the school year, with the help of some classics and some inspirational teaching, Jennifer got her students hooked on reading. Now she's looking to raise $500 so she can send all of her students home with a book to read over the summer.

7. Foster the Love of Reading

Yvette would like to raise funds to provide her students with a diverse collection of books that reflect their interests and backgrounds. These books will not only be used for independent reading, but also for read-alouds, literature circles, and research projects. With your support, Yvette hopes to create a classroom library that will inspire her students to explore new worlds, think critically, and develop a lifelong passion for reading.

8. Providing an Inclusive Reading Environment

Emily teaches K-6 at Leadership Learning Academy and would love to fill her library with inclusive, culturally responsive books that all of her students can relate to. She's looking to raise $500 to fill her classroom library with new books and grow lifelong readers. Can you help Emily hit her goal?

9. Books for Every Student for Back-to-School

On back-to-school night in August, Jennifer sets a table up outside her classroom where she can meet new families and give every student a brand-new book for them to take home and enjoy with their family. Will you help Jennifer bring the love of reading into more families homes?

10. Open a Book, Open Your Mind

Melissa teaches special education for 4th-6th graders at a charter school with a population of students that are 80% multi-language learners. Because their first language is not English, books are a great way to help her students immerse themselves in the English language and build their core skills.

Or to say thank you to a teacher who made an impact on your life, and send a Scholastic eGift card and tell them how grateful you are. Teacher appreciation is about so much more than just one week. It's never too late to say, "thank you for all you do!"
