(“Sweepstakes”) Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY. To be eligible, persons must complete all survey questions and qualify as indicated on the individual survey itself. Fully completed surveys must be postmarked and received by 11:59 p.m. EST on the date indicated on the survey or submitted online by the date indicated in order to be eligible to win. Five (5) [or number specified in survey—please see individual survey for applicable information] winners will be selected at random from among all eligible surveys received and will constitute the winners of the Sweepstakes. Winners will receive their prize between 30-90 days after the deadline for entry. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the email account.
Employees of Scholastic Inc. and members of their families living in the same household; the program sponsor and their respective parents, subsidiaries, employees, brokers, distributors, dealers, retailers, affiliates, and their immediate families; and their respective advertising, promotion, and production agencies are not eligible to enter. One entry per person; duplicate and/or mechanically reproduced entries will be disqualified. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Prize: Five (5) [or number specified in survey—please see individual survey for applicable information] winners will each receive one (1) fifty dollar ($50) [or number specified in survey—please see individual survey for applicable information] gift card. All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to abide by these rules and agree to release Scholastic Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, employees, brokers, distributors, dealers, retailers, affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion, and production agencies from any and all liability for injuries or damages of any kind sustained through participation in this promotion and/or use or misuse of a prize once accepted. By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees Scholastic shall own the entry submitted (including all rights embodied therein in winning entries) and that it and its designees may exploit, edit, publish, use, adapt, modify, or dispose of any entry and elements embodied therein online, in print, film, television, or in any other media now or hereafter known for advertising, promotional, or other purposes throughout the world, in perpetuity, without additional compensation or notification to or permission of the entrant except as prohibited by law. In addition, by entering, the entrant grants to Scholastic and its designees the right to use his or her name, likeness, hometown, biographical information, and school name for any lawful purposes, including advertising and promotional purposes, in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity without further notice, permission, or compensation, except where prohibited by law. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
No cash substitutions, transfers, or assignments of prizes allowed, except by Sponsor in case of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Sponsor’s decisions with respect to all matters related to this Sweepstakes shall be final.
Personally identifiable information will be subject to Scholastic’s Privacy Policy, which may be found here: https://www.scholastic.com/privacy.htm. Taxes on prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion, or production agencies are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, or telecommunications malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled, or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to play or participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. If for any reason (including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes) the online portion of the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes.
You may request the names of the winners four weeks after the survey deadline by sending an email to askterica@scholastic.com with “Feedback Survey Winners” in the subject line.
