1) Be responsible.
2) Always have emergency phone numbers on hand. Know how to contact the police/firehouse and all doctors.
3) Always make sure you know where the parents of the child are going. Be sure to get phone numbers and contact information.
4) Find out if the child has any allergies or takes medication.
5) Never let any strangers in the house or near the child you are watching. Don't have your own visitors either (unless the parents say it's ok).
6) Never let the child wander away from you.
7) Need an activity? Visit the zoo, the park or the pool. Always check with the child's parents beforehand.
8) Need help? Ask if it's ok if your friend works with you.
9) Always pay attention to what the child needs. Find out their favorite foods and games.
10) Agree on payment in advance.
