Intel Corporation and Scholastic have selected 20 K through 12 schools for recipients of the 2006 Intel and Scholastic Schools of Distinction Awards. These schools have demonstrated exceptional commitment to achievement and innovation in education, and also serve as exemplary models for success as they reveal their best practices. To celebrate each school's extraordinary commitment to educational excellence and innovation, the schools will each receive a $10,000 cash grant from the Intel Foundation in addition to a host of prizes ranging from curriculum materials and professional development resources to software and hardware valued at more than $3 million. Also, one primary and one secondary school, selected from among this year's honorees, were named "Best of the Best." These winners will receive an additional $15,000 grant from the Intel Foundation.
