For decades, R.L. Stine has cast a spell by transforming even the most reluctant readers into avid readers. First published in 1992, the beloved Goosebumps book series has enchanted generations of readers with its spooky, suspenseful, and eerie-sistible tales.

Each book features a standalone story centered around kids encountering chilling twists, creepy creatures, and supernatural forces — from talking jack-o’-lanterns and monster blood to a mysterious ghost beach or a terror tower. Packed with spine-tingling plots, humor, and lessons about resilience and courage, readers will be excited to dive into the next book in the series.

Goosebumps continues to leave a lasting impact on fans of horror, spawning numerous spin-offs that older audiences can’t get enough of, including the Disney Branded Television show produced by Sony Pictures Television, based on the bestselling book series, which first launched across Disney+ and Hulu in October 2023. Now, fans have a fresh reason to get excited about revisiting the pages of Stine’s books. On the heels of the suspenseful first season of Goosebumps, audiences can now fall for more thrills geared towards teens and families, in a brand new chapter of the anthology television series, "Goosebumps: The Vanishing."

“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” begins when two twins, Cece and Devin Brewer, spend a summer in Brooklyn, with their divorced dad. An omnious threat seems to be stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a decades-old mystery. As they try to investigate, the twins and their friends find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.

From Disney Branded Television and produced by Sony Pictures Television, watch the official series trailer below and stream all episodes of "Goosebumps: The Vanishing" now on Disney+ and Hulu.

The Goosebumps series is one of the most popular book series of all time, and while they are written for ages 8 through 12, it's attracted fans of all ages. We won’t give anything away, but the new 8-episode season of the Goosebumps anthology series is based upon themes from a few of the most popular titles below. Read on, watch the show, and see if you can spot the similarities.

  • Classic Goosebumps #30: The Haunted Car: When a shiny car feels especially alluring to Mitchell, strange things start to happen and he ends up on a ride that just might be the most terrifying of his life.

  • Classic Goosebumps #39: The Girl Who Cried Monster: If you're familiar with the fable about the boy who cries wolf, then you might not be surprised about what happens to Lucy – a girl who constantly recounts tales of monsters – when she actually meets a real one.

Plus, check out the most recent installment in the Goosebumps spin-off: Goosebumps House of Shivers #3: Night of the Living Mummy. Readers will follow along with Happy Silverman as his class takes a trip to a museum to see an exhibit on ancient Egypt. When he gets a little too close to the mummy display, he hears an odd voice in his head – one that just might belong to a long-dead mummy.
